You might be used to me sharing self-care recommendations
but on occasion, I want to tell you about new developments and services offered
here at the clinic.
Last fall I had several patients ask me if I provide cosmetic microneedling and cosmetic acupuncture.
I have provided cosmetic acupuncture in the clinic from time to time. Microneedling however was new to me. I didn’t know much about it a year ago but I was amazed at how many people asked me about it in such a short period of time.
I decided to look into it and found that microneedling is a very effective, safe way to stimulate the production of your own collagen. Why would somebody want to do that?
It makes your skin look smoother, with fewer visible wrinkles, scars, and age spots. It also reduces acne and restores thinning or lost hair.
So I was pleasantly surprised at how effective it is, that it’s a natural treatment, and that there is no trauma to the skin from the treatments. Your skin does get a little pink during the treatments but that fades in 8-12 hours
When natural rejuvenating serums are applied to your skin they are absorbed 3000% more effectively than without microneedling.
So, it does a lot. When I first learned about microneedling I was pretty skeptical, but I’ve seen it work really well firsthand in my clinic on wrinkles, scars, sagging skin, and acne.
I was at a local music festival a few months ago and ran into one of my patients who had 4 treatments with me at that point in time. While we were chatting two of her friends separately came up to us and asked her how she was making her skin look so good.
That was really fun to see how happy she was that friends were noticing the positive changes.
It’s nothing like a facelift but it provides a noticeable improvement that is natural looking. Makes sense since it’s your own collagen making the changes.
Results for wrinkles, age spots, and sagging skin issues last 3-5 years!
Here’s an important factoid for you on who can provide microneedling. Acupuncturists, MDs, and Nurse Practitioners are the only types of practitioners who can legally provide microneedling in California.
To make the services even more effective, next week I’m adding light therapy to the cosmetic services. Red light therapy is proven to stimulate collagen production in the skin. Blue light reduces inflammation from acne and rosacea. Yellow light reduces excessive pigment from age spots and melasma.
Here’s a link to my website for more information. More “before and after photos” along with light therapy information will be added to the website soon.
Please reach out to me if you have any questions.
